Yogendra Bhagat


At 71, Yogendra Bhagat, a noted philanthropist, is in no hurry to retire. Passion, humor, and readiness to take challenges with youth-like energy keep him moving forward. Born in well-to-do family in Saptari’s Rajpur village, Rampur Jamuwa, Bhagat couple live plain, pious and humble life. But when it comes to serving social and humanitarian cause, Bhagat couple have demonstrated magnanimous heart. For the hospital of Nepal Police in Eastern Development Region, Saptari, the couple have donated land and building worth twenty-five crore rupees. For the school of Armed Police Force, they have donated eleven bighas land worth twenty-two crore rupees. For RSS in their hometown, the couple have contributed four bighas land worth four crore rupees. One of Bhagat’s initial notable works includes full fledge contribution of fifty lakhs —covering full expenses in establishing Rajdevi School in the zonal head quaters of Sagarmatha region, Rajbiraj in 2044 B.S. In early days of establishing Nepal Red Cross Society’s building in the district, he contributed five lakhs rupees. In 2065 B.S, he gave away land worth fifty-lakhs to Saptari’s Lions Club office. Apart from all these marvelous works, spiritually inclined Bhagat couple have donated various idols in temples and brought about beautiful changes in lives of many around them. Since 2049 B.S Mr. Bhagat has been actively serving as the President of Nepal Red Cross, Saptari. And since 2068 BS, he has been running his own philanthropic trust “Thako Devi Jogendra Bhagat Sewa Trust” in Saptari, which has already worked in various fields. He is notably a leading philanthropist and social activist in Saptari.
