Adwiteeya Shiwakoti


Born in Singapore, Adwiteeya Shiwakoti is currently doing her higher education at Boston University in the United States. She completed her International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from the International School Manila (ISM) in the Philippines, where she was an English Honor’s High School student. She studied in The British School of Kathmandu and the ABC International School of Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam before joining the ISM.

She received ‘Attainment Award’ for excellent performance in Year 3 in 2012 in ABCIS in Vietnam, and ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ for participation in FOBISIA Student Environmental Conference 2017 hosted by TBS and facilitated by ICIMOD in 2017 in Kathmandu. She participated in the role of Security Council in Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN) in Doha, Quatar in 2016. Adwiteeya was awarded certificate for attending 3 day international Seminar on “Long Distance Migration and Environmental Challenges in Nepal” organized by NEGAAS (Nepal German Academic Association) and sponsored by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) in Hotel Yellow Pagoda, Kathmandu in 2017.

Apart from her academic performances, she is actively involved in social, cultural, literary, art and sport activities, and has won numerous awards, medals and certificates for her extra curricular activities in Nepal and abroad.

 

Star received numerous awards as ‘Star Writer’ for producing excellent pieces of writings, creative quest stories, poems and essays using ambitious words. Her poems, short stories and essays have been published in the Kathmandu Post and My Republica. She has won various medals for sport activities in swimming, running, javelin throw including Swimming Gala of TBS in Aug 30, 2013. She participated in TBS choir concerts playing leading role in many stage productions.

She gave welcome speeches on Artist Sandhya Regmi’s 7th Solo Painting Exhibition entitled “Faces of Buddha” in Nepal Art Council attended by the Chief Guest Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi in August 2013 and in 9th Solo Painting Exhibition of Artist Regmi entitled “Guide me from darkness to Light” attended by the Chief Guest German Ambassador to Nepal which was organized by Buddha Harmony Foundation in July 2018.

She has volunteered in a series of social events for the children, students and differently-abled communities of Nepal especially during the devastating earthquake of 2015. She participated as a volunteer in cheering up of Nepal’s SOS children’s village of Jorpati by singing songs and helping in paintings in art competition in the aftermath of the great earthquake disaster. Similarly, she volunteered in the special sports event “Earthquake Refreshment Wheel Chair Basketball Tournament 2015” of the Nepal Spinal Cord Injury Sport Association( NSCISA), and in the “Fresh Fruit Distribution” to the spinal injured of the Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) of Sanga, Kavre district to uplift the spirit of Nepal’s spinal injured community devastated by the great earthquake. She volunteered in teaching English to the peers of Shri Tika Secondary High School, Sanepa, Nepal in 2015.
