Artist Sandhya Regmi’s 9th Solo Painting Exhibition Commences at Nepal Art Council Babarmahal


Sandhya Regmi’s 9th solo painting exhibition entitled “Guide Me From Darkness to Light” has commenced at Nepal Art Council, Babar Mahal. The exhibition was inaugurated by the chief guest Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Roland Shcaefer, amidst a grand function chaired by venerable monk Kondanya Mahastavir. Buddha Harmony Foundation organized the event.

The event was marked by real-time oil-on-canvas painting of horse by Nepal’s Senior Artist, Shashi Bikram Shah.

The exhibition brings a new series of 33 new paintings consisting of spiritual paintings of Lamps, Om, Gayatri Mantra , Mahamrityunjaya Mantra, Semi-abstracts and Abstracts. The painting themes comprise “Spiritualism”, “Yoga”, “Meditation”, “Prayer”, “Rage of Nature”, “Victory of Truth”, “Liberation Delight”, among others. The lamps in the paintings radiate spiritual lights, serving as an immense source of guidance from “Darkness to Light”, “Falsehood to Truth”, and “Death to Life” . Through her paintings, Artist Sandhya has brilliantly connected life with spiritual lights, seeking to inspire people to overcome tragedies,and to guide them from darkness to light.

During the function, German Ambassador appreciated Sandhya Regmi’s art works and expressed his hope that in coming days the cultural interaction between Nepal and Germany would grow further.

The function was attended by distinguished guests, includingspouse of the Ambassador, Madam Brigitte Cheron Schaefer, guest of honor Prof. Sanjay Dev of California State University, venerable monks, senior artists, art critics, art lovers  and the Alumnis of St. Marys High Shool .

Artist Sandhya Regmi had exhibited her 8th Solo art titled “My Motherland Nepal Gloriously Stretched amidst the Endless Sky” in 2014 and her 7th solo art titled ‘Faces of Buddha” in 2013 in the same venue.

The exhibition will continue until 14 July 2018.
