SOS Children Village Jorpati – Art & Creativity Program & Snacks Distribution


A creativity and refreshment programme was organized in Jorpati for the Earthquake affected SOS Village’s Children on 20 June 20 2015 to bring smiles in their faces and to help unearth their hidden talent on art and creativity. The event was sponsored by Sanjay Dev, a mathematics professor at California State University, USA. Painting materials were provided by Mrs. Sanu Maya Shrestha, who is an owner of an art shop in Bhotahiti. The programme was coordinated by artist Sandhya Regmi. The staffs of SOS children village, including, Project Director Mr. Rabin Nepali and Mrs. Sushila Sharma welcomed the participants and supported the programme. The SOS children enthusiastically participated in an hour long friendly painting competition. The children immersed themselves in colorful paintings in water colors, poster colors, and crayons. Despite being physically and mentally challenged, they exhibited amazing talents on art and creativity. Winners of the event were awarded art books and painting materials. This was followed by serving fresh snacks consisting of sandwich, samosa, fresh fruit and sweets to the children and staff of the SOS children village. The event provided an excellent opportunity to interact with the children, staffs, and the care-taker ‘Aamas’.
