Mr. Bam Dev Sharma


Bam Dev Sharma is a university teacher and has been teaching English language and poetry over twenty years. He started his writing career as early as in the age seventeen in Nepali. However it was soon after completion of masters’ degree in 1993 he started composing Poems in English. He was awarded with a scholarship in South Korea in 2007 for residency poetry that engrossed him more into writing poetry and eventually he reduced his other workloads at the university where he was employed. The realization of his own mission in the world, he continued contributing greatly to literature. Bam Dev Sharma has two collections of poems – The Bunyan and the Alder and The Duet of Rivers in his credit. The Bunyan and the Alder was published in 2007 in the US, whereas The Duet of Rivers was published in 2016 in Japan both are appreciated by critics across the world. He is also a writer of research articles in the university, have written several books for the students and have also contributed critical reviews of a number of poetry books. He loves writing children’s stories and has produced some collections which are highly appreciated by children across the world. His poems are being showcased in several national and international poetry journals such As Tintota, Events Quarterly, Jelly Fish, Snow Jewel and many more. He is also an active member of several national and international poetry forums. He is the director of Writers Capital International Foundation for Nepal.
