Narayan Regmi


Mr. Narayan Regmi completed his B Sc in Agriculture from India, and later obtained MBA from Massey University, New Zealand. He joined Nepal Government’s Agricultural Service in 1967 till his retirement in May 9, 2004. During his service period of 3 decades, he contributed tremendously for the dissemination of improved farming practices through agricultural extension education and training, and for the establishment of a National Agricultural Training Center for officers, and co-ordination of regional training centers for non-officers and leader farmers. He worked for the implementation of resettlement project in Bardia district, and was responsible for the planning and budgeting leadership in the Department of Agriculture, and for the introduction of Agro-biodiversity Program in the Ministry of Agriculture. Furthermore, he also contributed for the management of media relations in the Ministry of Agriculture, for the teaching and training in Staff College for government officers, and planning and execution of service delivery project in IIDS – a national level NGO, as research fellow. The continuous search for inner peace finally connected him to Nepal Vipassana Center, Dhamma Sringa, Muhanpokhari, Kathmandu in the November of 2002. The quest for the meaning of life and liberation has finally led him to learn more about Buddha and his teachings.
