Venerable Monk Bhikkhu Kondanya, the General Secretary of All Nepal Bhikkhu Association since 2012, is the Resident Monk and the Abbot of Buddha Vihara Bhrikuti Mandapa. As a student he resided in the Sangharama Bhikkhu Training Centre and Ananda Kuti Monastery. He holds a Master Degree in Nepalese History, Culture and Archeology from the Tribhuvan University. He is the Chairman & Director of Siddhartha Shishu Niketan School. He served as Vice President of Buddha Jayanti Celebration Committee, Shantiban Godawari and Vishwa Shanti Bouddha Sikshalaya. He is the Executive Member of Lumbini Development Trust, Greater Lumbini Development National Steering Committee, International Buddhist Center, Buddha Anniversary Committee, and Aananda Kuti Vihara Trust. He was the Founder Member of International Buddhist Centre and Vishwa Shanti Vihara Conservation Committee. He was the secretary of Pravajit Deep Nirman Samiti, Swayambhu and Ananda Kuti Vidhyapeeth School. He has contributed as Chief Advisor to Aananda Bhuwana Vihara, and Advisor to the Supreme School in Swayambhu and to the Buddhist Home for the aged in Banepa. He was a Faculty Academic Member of Lumbini Buddhist University for 3 years. He served as Steering Committee Member for the International Buddhist Conference, held in Lumbini in Nov, 2014 and also in Kathmandu in May, 2016. He has participated and presented papers in a number of International Seminars and Conferences mostly related to Buddha & Buddhism. He participated in World Buddhist Summit held in Lumbini, Nepal in 2001, in Yangon, Myanmar in 2004, and in Bangkok in 2005. He also attended the 5th Asian Conference on Religion and Peace in Thailand in 1996, International Conclave on Buddhism and Spiritual Tourism in New Delhi in 2004, International Conference on Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism in Bangkok in 2004, South Asia Inter-Faith Consultation on Children, Young People and HIV/ AIDS in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2004, International Monastic Seminar in Taiwan in 2004. 1), and seminar Forum on Sino-Nepal Tibetan Buddhist Culture in China in 2015. He was as active participant of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th International Buddhist Conference on the UN’s Day of Vesak in May 2005, 2006 and 2007 in Bangkok. He also attended the International Buddhist Conference held in Vietnam in 2014 and presented papers on the themes “For the Promotion, Preservation and Protection of Buddhist Culture and Heritage” and “Nepal: The Birthplace of Lord Buddha and the Fountain of Buddhism” in the International Buddhist Conferences held in Lumbini in Nov, 2014 and in Kathmandu in May 2016 respectively. He possesses journalistic experience and has authored, translated and edited Buddhist Texts. He is editor of Buddhist Monthly and Annual Magazines, such as – ‘Dharma Pradeepa’, ‘Charumati Voice’, ‘Shanti Sandesh’, ‘Pugata Bhoomi’, ‘Shanti Ban’, ‘Ananda Bhoomi’ and the bulletins of ‘All Nepal Bhikkhu Association’ and yearly Buddha Jayanti Celebration Souvenir. He was awarded the Siddhi-Indra Smriti Puraskar in 2000, 1st Dharmashila Vidwatvritti of Pokhara in 2011, and was honored as the Ambassador for Peace in 2006 and the Youth Ambassador for Peace in 2008. He has talked as a renowned Dhamma Lecturer in Metro FM, Radio Sagarmatha, Nepal Television and Kantipur Television. He has travelled to India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Taiwan (ROC), Japan, China, USA, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.
