Ven. Monk Uttam


Monk Uttam is an Artist and art Instructor with a Bachelors in Fine Art from Lalit kala Campus. He is pursuing his Masters on the same. His paintings have been exhibited in International Buddhist Art Exhibition in Srilanka on the occasion of 2555th Buddha Jayanti in 2011. He has participated in many group exhibitions in several art festivals and national art exhibitions organized by Nepal Academy of Fine Art (NAFA). As an artist he has also contributed to the Buddhist museum project, and he is a member of Lumbini Theravada museum. He was an active participant of the International Buddhist Conference held in Lumbini. He has also contributed as Illustrator in Buddhist Magazines and published his poetry collection ‘Satya ko Darshan ma’. He has secured first position in Buddhist Art Competition organized by Vishwa Shanti Vihar and received awards many times in art competitions organized by various organizations. Apart from Nepali, English, Newari and Hindi, he can also speak Pali and Burmese. He has visited India, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Srilanka.
